a clinical thermometer is used to measure body temp....hence,its made with material that can handle only body temp. only.
laboratory thermometers are used to know extreme low or high temp.it cant measure human's temp because of its wide range

Answer:
The clinical thermometer cannot be used to measure high temperature because:
- the temperature range of the clinical thermometer is very small. It can detect the temperature between 35°C to 42°C.
- Thus, if it would be used to detect the higher temperatures, it may get damaged.
The laboratory thermometer cannot be used to detect the body temperature because:
- due to the absence of kink in these thermometers, the readings we get after removing the thermometer from the mouth is not accurate.
- These thermometers have a high range of temperature (-10°C to 110°C) which decreases their accuracy over a small body temperature range.
