The CO2 component is transported via the dissolved or mixed form in haemoglobin as carbaminohaemoglobin (Hb CO2) it is a reversible reaction and an unstable compound. As of which it is highly soluble (one more factor) and about 7% of carbon dioxide gets dissolved into blood plasma and is carried in solution to the lungs. Thus a larger vllolume of CO2 is being dissolved and transported than oxygen.
