Why CO2 is used to put out fires ?

Carbon dioxide extinguishers work because carbon dioxide molecules are heavier than oxygen molecules. When the liquid carbon dioxide inside the extinguisher expands into a gas, thecarbon dioxide pushes out any oxygen surrounding the fire......hope it helps u.....and if yes...mark it as the brainliest

because co2 break down the linkage between air and fire......it works like a blanket between them
