Why compton effect is not observable in visible light?

This phenomenon is called compton effect. In compton effect the energy of the photon should greater than binding energy of electron .in metals the threshold frequency is equal to that of ultraviolet light .the visible light energy is low. So compton effect is not noticed in visible light.
