It is both rigid and flexible. It is flexible because provisions may be amended or modified by ordinary legislative process. In case of rigid constitution special procedures are required for amending them. Because of these provisions, the Indian Constitution is characterized by a mixture of flexibility and rigidity.

The Indian constitution is said to be the longest written constitution of the world. It is considered to be both flexible and rigid.

The Indian constitution is said to be flexible because many provisions of the constitution can be amended in a flexible manner by a simple majority in the Parliament. Moreover our constitution has been amended more than 100 times till now proving the point.

The Indian Constitution is considered to be rigid because many provisions in the constitution require special procedures of voting to get amended.
