Why corona loss increases on decreasing the radius of the conductor.

These is due to the fact that rain droplets on the transmission line conductors can be viewed as sharp edges which enhances the electric field and therefore reduces the corona disruptive voltage and hence increase the corona power loss. Corona generation increases whenever moisture accumulates on the conductor.
