Why crops are not dead when we pour weedicides and only the weeds are dead why not crops?

it is because every crop is resistant to weedicide . so , when weedicides are sprayed , it effects only the weeds .
actually those chemicals are added in weedicides which effect the weedsand not the plants (p.s. please add this line in the middle ..after the first sentence..for got to addit before !! :) )

There are some characteristics that differentiate a crop from a weed and based on those differences a weedicide is designed in such a way that the crop is resistant to it and the weedicide only kills the unnecessary weeds
