why cu2+ is colored while zn2+is white ?

Cu+2 Have Unpaired Electron In His Electron Configuration but Zn+2 Have All Shell with Paired Electron.. [According To Molecular Orbital Theory]


That's Why When Electron Go To Excited State it Emit the Colour and Because Cu+2 have Unpaired Electron It Do So while Zn+2 Can't.
