In 1926, a major protest erupted in Saigon Native Girls School because a Vietnamese girl was expelled because she refused to move to a back bench. She was seating in the front row but asked to move back as a local French student has to occupy the front seat. She refused this racial discrimination where French were give special preference in every field. As because she was a Vietnamese she had to sit at the back whereas French students always got the privilege to sit in front.
