Akbar, The Great, was a brilliant tactician. The Mughals had been fighting with region kings of India, since Babur's time.
This fighting led to not much progress and a huge loss of resources.
Akbar was the first Mughal emperor who understood that in order to conquer India he had to make an alliance with the Hindu kings.
