Ali gave the money to Lakshmi das (clerk) because as his end was near ,so he gave all his savings or the gold coins to the clerk and requested him whenever he receives the letter he would post Ali's letter to his grave.

because that money was of no use to him, he was knowing that it was his last time and that money which he gave to him was like a reward for him. while giving that money me demand for a promise that he would keep the letter from his daughter to his grave
