Why did Ali not come to the Post Office for several days? Why was he impatient when he finally returned to the Post Office ?

as Ali is getting old he cannot regularly come to post office to wait for the letter from his daughter
so finally a last day came to him so became has impatient so that he gave 5 gold coins to lakshmi doss when he receive the letter so that he can keep on his grave
