WHY DID ANNE DECIDE TO LEAVE SHORTHAND FOR SOMETIME?

Anne decided to stop studying shorthand for sometime because she was becoming nearsighted and could not get glasses. The group thought of sending her to the ophthalmologist but as Mr. Frank had heard that the British had landed in Sicily and thought that the war would be over soon, they did not do so.
