Explanation:

Aurangzeb was a devout Muslim who strove to enforce Shari'a law on all of the Mughal domains, believing that the past Mughal emperors had made too many concessions to heathen faiths in their tolerant assimilation policies and their syncretic beliefs, particularly the Din-i-llahi religion created by Akbar. Consequently, he placed bans on many things considered unlawful or sinful by Shari'a—music, dancing, alcohol, narcotics, fornication, and so on. The Pungi itself was banned in part due to this, but also for more immediate causes—Aurangzeb detested the sound the instrument made, saying it had a shrill, unpleasant sound, and forbade anybody from playing it in his royal residences.

Explanation:

aurangzed did so because he was aginst the rituals of the others religions. be it hinduism, sikhism or any other non-islamic religion,he didnt allowed those to survive in his kingdom. he believed that music is anti islam and banned all forms of music as well musucians. aurungzed was an infamous ruler because of the steps that he took,be it reimposition jiziyah tax,he was a highly prejudiced person or a piece of misogynistic. he believed only and only in having namaz,4 or 5 times a day(do google about the no. of namaz or the prayer that muslims(humans) offer to the god),and hemce banned every anti islam activity in his kingdom.
