because they wanted our nation to lack expensive raw materials which could have profited India with a brought future

they imported the raw materials from india at a very low cost and sold the same finished product at high costs.
many farmers were forced to grow commercially agricultural products as cootton
so in rage they didn't provide the best quality they could
there was a stiff and heavy competition in Indian market and the British were technologically ahead of Indians wgich made them win
