Hello friend,
Charles Dicken was from the mid British era which meant that he witnessed industrialization with his own eyes. He saw how women were ripped off individualism and their rights of security. He witnessed children being pushed towards slavery and injustice. Peoples lives became hell, in short.
The effects were supposed to be positive , in return they were negative and effected adversely on the character of people. They have lost the sense of right and wrong.
I hope the answer is helpful.
Thanks
