Why did cold desert of india not affected by the monsoon?

Himalayas are cold desert in India not affected by the monsoon. The cold deserts in India normally do not get affected by the monsoon because they are situated at the temperate regions at higher latitudes. The low atmospheric humidity doesn't allow the deserts to get affected by the changing monsoons in the country.
