why did doc Wilson mean when he said nothing in the word Never Comes quite free​

He meant that the fawn is now left isolated and there is no one to take care of it. He is not independent and mature also.

The doe sacrificed it's life to save Penny from the poison of the snake and it died. So in regard to this,Jody should start taking care of the fawn and nurture him.
