Gandhiji choosed to break the salt law because British had imposed a law which stated that the control over the manufacture of salt will be under British and they imposed tax on sell of salt.Mahatma Gandhi and other national leaders felt that it was wrong to impose tax on salt which was an essential commodity for food. The leaders decided to oppose this tax.
