Rowlat act says that if a crowd will form then every member of crowd will be arrested.

  • After arriving in India Mahatma Gandhi successfully organised Satyagraha movement in various places.
  • So when in 1919 the British Government passed Rowlatt Act he decided to launch a Satyagraha against this black act.
  • Rowlatt Act was the act which gave the government enormous power to repress political activities and allowed detention of political prisoners without trial for two years.
  • The Act was passed despite the United opposition of the Indians.
