The reasons behind the failure of the Cripp's Mission are as follows :
⇒ The Cripps Mission did not tell anything about the independence of India.
⇒ The Mission opposed the creation of a single union.
⇒ It would have led to the partition of the country.
⇒ It was rejected by the Hindus because they did not want their country to be partitioned.
⇒ It was rejected by the people of Princely states as they had no right to vote.
⇒ It did not grant any guarantee of self government.
That is why it was called "post dated cheque on a failing bank ".
That is why Gandhiji rejected it.
