Helen preferred to read the book by herself rather than someone else spelling it up on her hands, as when she love some part, she reads it again, so it gave her the convenience to study and relax.

Helen was seven, when she read her first book,"little lord fauntleroy". from there only her true passion for books arise.

Despite being deaf and blind, Helen showed highly procured characters. The best among them was that she was self dependent. Helen did not wanted to be dependent upon others most of the time. She also stated "literature is my utopia".

This is the reason helen prefer to rea the books on her own, despite have miss sullivan read and re read those books on her hand.
