It was because the textile machines produced large amounts of cloth at a very cheap rate. So , it gave a tough competition to the weavers in India . Thus, people opted for mill cloth for its cheap rate, and the consumers of Indian cloth declined. Thus import of Indian cloth was affected by the entry of textile machines.
