Democratic form of Government is on in which popular sovereignty practiced where real powers lies in hand of people.

This concept has its origin in the early Greek City Republics and from there it had spread various parts of world. India was also not exception for it as Ancient India, too, had several Republics such as Mallas, Kapillavastu,Vaishali where Kings were elected by people and they were responsible for the people they governed .
