Kalpana Chawal was an imaginative and creative little girl, she even chose her own name!! as a young child Kalpana was fascinated by planes and stars. at her time, her village was one of the few villages to have a flying club.
as she grew up, she became interested in aviation careers. However her father was against it as he thought that a school teacher or a doctor were more suitable careers. But Kalpana was adamant that she wanted to be an aeronautical engineer and soon ( as the whole family was on her side ) her father finally gave in... she was also one of the only girls who was studying in aeronautical engineering.
Although she has passed away, she will forever be remembered in our hearts.
