Why did Kemp turn out differently than Griffen? After all they are both scientists. Is Kemp less isolated than Griffen? Is it simply because Kemp has more money?

Kemp is a scientist with no secret ambitions and normal social
relations. Thus, he shares his experiments with the wider scientific
community for general good, which is the purpose of science.
However, Griffin is more isolated from the society; he remains absorbed in his experiments and harbours secret ambitions. Moreover, he is very unscrupulous; he does not hesitate in robbing his own father for financing his experiments and shows no remorse even on his death.
Thus, we see that Kemp turns out differently because of his good intentions and normal social relations. Griffin is socially isolated and secretive, with evil intentions, and this is the cause of his demise.

Despite being scientists, Kemp and Griffin were of completely different personalities. Griffin kept his scientific discovery to himself with the selfish motive of flashing his discovery upon the world with crushing effect and getting famous in one blow. But Kemp turned out differently because he used his study of science for the benefit of the world. He was working on something which he hoped would bring him the fellowship of the Royal Society. Kemp shared his studies with the world just like any other scientist would. His activities were out of love of science rather than for his personal gain.
