KNIGHTS WERE AN ESSENTIAL PART IN THE SOCIAL AND POLITICAL STRUCTURE OF MEDIEVAL FEUDAL EUROPE, THE HAD A STANDING ARMY OF THEIR OWN, WHILE THE KING, BEING AT THE APEX OF ADMINISTRATION,DIDN'T. THE SUPPLIED THE KING AT THE TIME OF WAR , IN EXCHANGE OF LAND, FOR THEIR VALUABLE HELP AND SERVICE TO THE KING , FROM THE KING. THIS ANCIENT SYSTEM, BROUGHT INTO EXISTENCE IN THE FRANKISH PERIOD WAS FAULTY AND COULDN'T CONTINUE FOR LONG, AS THE KNIGHTS SLOWLY OVERPOWERED THE KING IN THEIR POWER AND POSITION. SO LONG BEFORE THE REINASSANCE THIS FEUDAL SYSTEM WAS GIVEN UP, THERE WERE KNIGHTS EVEN AFTER, BUT THEIR POWERS ANS POSITION WERE GREATLY REDUCED
