lencho wrote a letter to god bcos he was in great despair as his crops were ruined due to the hailstorm and there was no one else besides god to help him in that catastrophic situation. lencho's letter to god also symbolises his immense devotion to god. The letter written by lencho was received by

the post master .

on receiving the letter the post master was suprised by lencho's devotion to god . As told in the story the post master was a kind hearted man and was really keen to help the sender of the letter ie lencho. he took a portion of his salary ,he also asked his employees and friends to help him collect 100 pesoes yet he only managed to collect a little more than the required amount which was about 70 pesos
