Maddie didnot want to tease Wanda because she was also from a poor family just like Wanda with a very kind, good and caring heart. She supported Peggy beacuse Peggy was her best friend and as per her point of views Peggy can never do anything wrong as she was the most famous girl of the class .

The moral values of caring and supporting each other and helping one another makes a friendship strong. Peggy was wrong still Maddie supported her out of fear of lossing her dignity that was wrong support should be given when the fact is correct. Trust plays major role in friendship.
