Mahatma Gandhi broke the salt law as the Indians were not alloud to collect the salt from the sea without a tax. Mahatma Gandhi opposed this law and broke it by their famous Dandi March. Dandi March was a method in which Gandhiji covered a long distance on foot by his Ashrams followers. Thus the British broke the salt law
