At the second round table conference, Dr. Ambedkar demanded a separate electorate for Dalits in provincial legislature.Gandhiji opposed the proposal by saying that it would divide the Hindus as he pleaded that untouchables should not be considered as separate and demand for separate reservation. As a result Gandhiji clashed with Dr. Ambedkar.

Dr Br Ambedkar who organised the dalit's into the depressed classes association in 1930 clashed with Mahatma Gandhi at the second round table conference by demanding separate electorates for depressed/dalit's.when British government conceded Ambedkar's demand Gandhi Ji began a fast on to death.
