Why did Mahatma Gandhi condemn the pentangular tournament?

Gandhiji disnounced the pentagular tournament on communal and racial lines as
* It diversed the communities as it was completely communal based.
* It feared the leaders as they thought that it may disturb the unity among the Indians.
* It was critized by Gandhiji as he understood it's motive to create disunity by the British.
