Why did mahatma gandhi felt the need to launch a more broad based movement in india how did he achieve this object?

Becaz he felt Rowlatt satyagraha was limited to cities . Muslim participation was not there.

So he thought of launching non cooperation movement . He felt no such movement can be organized without bringing Hindus and Muslims under one umbrella.

So he took support of Shaukat and Muhammad Ali

They launched NCM for supporting Khalifa and for swaraj too.
