Mahatma Gandhi withdrew non-cooperation movement due to the following reasons...
1.gandhiji felt the movement was turning violent in many places.
2.A clash took place at chauri chaura in uttar pradesh.
3.A group of volunteers picketing a liquor shop were beaten up by a police officer.
4.In protest a group of peasants went to the police station bolted the door and set fire to the police station killing 22 police men.
5. Gandhiji felt that the people of India were not ready for a nation wide movement of mass struggle and felt that he should withdraw the movement.
6.Moreover, many members of the Indian National Congress felt that the Non-cooperation movement was tiresome and unnecessary, since they wanted to contest in the elections.
due to all these reasons gandhiji decided to call off the movement .

Khilafat movement also called as non cooperation movement .It was simply an attitude towards british that they will not cooperate with British people in any of the aspect .
Ghandi ji supported it because he wanted India to be independent.
