The protest was about the following:

a. In 1926, a major protest occurred  in the Saigon Native Girls School. 

b. A Vietnamese girl sitting in one of the front seats was asked to move back and make space for a French student.

c. On refusal, she was expelled by the Principal, other students supporting her were also expelled.

d.  As protests broke out the government forced the school to take students back.

e, The Principal, though took the students back on governments' pressure but unleashed her anger by vowing to establish control over Vietnamese.

The major protest erupted in Saigon Native Girls School in 1926, in Vietnam, when a Vietnamese girl sitting in the front seat was asked to move to the back for a local French student to occupy the front bench to which she refused and was expelled by the Principal. So they other students protested they too were expelled. When the situation went out of control the government compelled the school authorities to take back the students.
