They declared themselves as national assembly because king louis 16 called a meeting for increasing taxes 300 people of 1st and 2nd estate each came there and they were sitting on chairs and king told the 600 people of 3rd estate to stand back and all the load of taxes was given to 3rd state and the people of 1ist and 2nd estate had not to give taxes and the value of the vote of 3rd estate people was less so they came out of the meeting and formed national assembly and abbe sieves become the leader of natuonal assembly.
