Mendel chose Pea plants for his experiments as they are easy to raise, have many offspring per mating, can fertilise themselves and have varieties in genotype and phenotype that are easily observable

Hey!!!
Mendel choose pea plant because---
# some pea varieties are binneal hence 2 generation can be seen in one year.
# it has 7 pairs of contrasting characters which helped to study inheritance
# it is easy to grow in garden
# it has bisexual flower so both self and cross pollination can be introduced
# hybrids we're perfectly fertile
# it produced many offsprings in one cross.
I hope it helped u^_^
