Miss Fairchild called Easton , a marshal because she was told so by the real marshal. Moreover, her own fantasies did not allow her to suspect the real marshal's revelation about Mr.Easton. Easton,in reality, was a convict being taken to a prison on changes of counterfeiting.

Returning color is a expression of a Fairchild from horror to changing to that of relief.
