Mr Keesing was very angry with Anne for talking in the class and as a punishment he asked her to write an essay on 'A Chatterbox' Anne displayed her sense of humour and argued that talking was a female trait. She continued to talk and Mr Keesing attempted to embarrass her by assigning her a second essay on 'An Incorrigible Chatterbox'. He failed again and asked her to write an essay entitled 'Quack, Quack, Quack, said Mistress Chatterbox' Anne wrote a poem about a duck family and how the ducklings were bitten to death by the father because they quacked too much. Mr Keesing understood the joke and allowed Anne to talk in the class without giving her extra homework.
