Answer:

Explanation:

When Tricki was admitted to Mr. Herriot, its condition was so critical that it could not even walk properly. Mr. Herriot had told her that he would need a surgery to be fine. When Mrs Pumphrey got Tricki back he was absolutely fit and fine. This made Mrs Pumphrey believe that the dog’s recovery was “a triumph of surgery".

Answer:

Mrs. Pumphrey said this when the narrator, Herriot handed her Tricki after keeping it under observation at his clinic with other dogs. Mrs.Pumphrey had pampered her dog, Tricki. She had spoilt it with over-feeding. It had become so fat that mere walking had become difficult for it.

James Herriot knew Ricki needed some exercise and normal eating regime to make it slimmer and well. So, he took Tricki to his clinic and kept it on normal diet; it played with other dogs; and after a fortnight it became in shape.

When Mrs. Pumphrey got Tricki back she was so happy. She thought the narrator had done some surgery on it. So. In gratitude she said, ““This is a triumph of surgery.” She did not know at all what Tricki’s ailment was.
