Balkan was tha head of National tension. Both the ottoman empire and Europe wanted to gain control over the Balkan. It was a part of the ottoman empire for a long time. As nationalist feelings rose in Europe through the struggles of the French revolution and through the history, the Balkan also started to struggle for their freedom as they exclaimed that they were also once a nation state and the ottoman empire had gain control on them.

Besides the revolt against a Muslim empire, the people of Balkan were jealous of each other and were intolerant.
