Why did old Ali walk through the town in intense cold ? How could he survive the bitter cold ?

Ali walked every day to the post office undaunted by cold or inclement weather. He went there with the hope of receiving a letter from his daughter, Miriam, who had left him suddenly. He could survive such bitter cold only with power of hope and faith.
