portia's father left a test for the suitors so that portia gets a suitable husband for herself and she will never go into wrong hands. But instead of helping her this challenge made her worry as no suitor was ready to take the challenge when they came to know the terms and conditions of the casket challenge. They were not allowed to win another lady if they failed in this challenge to win Portia. This made Portia worry that she will never be able to get married.
