Although the Green revolution contributed a lot to the Indian agriculture pulses but could not reap its benefits because -

-Pulses are considered a residual crop in India.

-They have to be rain fed for better outputs.

-The government policies during the Green revolution favored the cultivation of rice and wheat.

-Lack of any compensatory policies for pulses.

-No great major technology outbreak for revolutionizing cultivation of pulses.
