Quit India Movement became popular because it was the first major movement by Indians in an attempt to get the British out of their country. The movement was led by Mahatma Gandhi along with many other leaders of that time. When the leaders were arrested, there was total unrest in the country. Indians retorted to many forms of non-violent demonstrations and disorderliness in the following days.


One of the biggest achievements of Quit India Movement is that it brought about a sense of unity among Indians from all over the country. This was lacking earlier.

Explanation:

1)All India congress committe passed Quit india resolution on 8th august 1942at Bombay and passed a resolution stating clearly that "British rule in india must end immediately ".

2)Gandhiji gave slogan'do or die' we shall either free india or die in the attempts.

3)Most of the congress leaders including gandhiji were arrested. The peaple protested with hartals, strikes, processions all over the country.
