Rabindranath Tagore in the year 1908 wrote letter to his friend i.e. A M Bose and told that “Patriotism can’t be over humanity".

Price of diamonds will be less than a glass and never will permits patriotism to rejoice over humanity till his death.”

After three years of writing this letter part of qualified Letters of Rabindranath Tagore which was published by Cambridge University during the year 1997 his making Jana Gana Mana was being sung for the first time at the Calcutta Congress Sabha.

For Tagore, the world of patriotism that grew only on showing off how a man was serving the country was not enough.

As per Tagorean philosophy, the world could be made a better place to live in, if people believed in the study of humanity, in serving the poor and the downtrodden, and where people created a world where the mind will be without fear and the head will be held high.
