It was a valiant effort by the dissatisfied sepoys to overthrow the Colonial Government from Indian soil but it ended in faliure because of the following reasons:

            There was no planning and no organization.

             ... Moreover, we must also refer to the support given to the                                                             government by the Sikhs,  the Gorkhas and the Rajputs.
