Sugar mills are shifting towards the western and southern states of India for the following reasons:
The cane produced in these regions has higher sucrose content.
The cooler climate ensures longer crushing season.
The cooperatives are more successful in these regions.
The industries are supported by infrastructure.
 or
IN THE NORTHERN PART DUE TO THE HOT WEATHER SUGERCANE LOSSES ITS SUCROSE CONTENT AND ITS SWEETNESS REDUCES.
IN THE SOUTHERN REGION SUGERCANE IS FRESH FOR LONGER TIME AS IT IS A PENINSULAR REGION AND IS NEAR COASTAL AREAS AND THE SUCROSE CONTENT IS HIGH WHICH MAKES THE SUGARCANE SWEET.
THE SOUTHERN PART IS ALSO MORE FERTILE THAN THE NORTHERN PART.

sugar mills has been mostly concentrated in northern india . but in some few years sugar mills has been shifted to southern india because climatic conditions there favour the sugarcane to grow and the sucrose content in sugarcane is high in the sugarcane.
