1. The media criticized the colonial government . The british government did not liked it.
2.After the revolt of 1857, to insure that no other person or the majority of the country raise up and fight ,they took control over the Indian press.
3. Now as there was no criticism ,people would stay and obey their orders and everything will stay in their control.
