Why did the British want to take over rani of jhansi's kingdom

because Rani's kingdom had no heir (Cuse her husband died and she had no biological son) and according to the treaty signed, if their is no heir, then the kingdom has to be seized.

the British wanted to take over the Rani Lakhmibai's Kingdom because lost her husband who was the king of that particular district and she her adopted son to be the next ruler but according to one of the British policies that the adopted son of any ruler was not allowed to rule after the king dies his Kingdom will be under Britishers
